The Balance Foundation is now closed
The Balance Foundation was a charitable initiative whose objective was to develop and test a voluntary mechanism for the release of unclaimed assets held by UK financial institutions.
From 2003-2007, Balance oversaw the release of an estimated £8 million in funds from unclaimed assets within investment banks using the voluntary release mechanism. Approximately 10% of funds released were made available to Balance and, through its Grants Programme, Balance awarded grants to 28 charities whose projects support the needs of vulnerable and socially excluded older people.
Having achieved its primary objective, demonstrating proof of concept, Balance has now ceased operations and the grants are being administered by the Clore Duffield Foundation. If you were awarded a grant under the 2005 or 2006 Grant Programmes and have a query please e mail: info@cloreduffield.org.uk.
